InMyMoney: Currency Converter

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 4 October 2026 · Developer: Elderlight Studio

In short
  • Photos of prices are read on your phone and are never uploaded or stored.
  • We have no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
  • Your settings, history and exchange rates stay on your device.
  • We do not sell or share your personal data.

1. Who we are

InMyMoney: Currency Converter (“InMyMoney”, “the app”) is an Android app developed by Elderlight Studio (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at lozanalekseev@gmail.com.

2. Camera and photos

The app uses your camera to read prices from price tags, labels and menus. Text recognition runs entirely on your device using Google’s ML Kit on-device text recognition. Camera frames and photos:

  • are processed in your phone’s memory only for the moment needed to read the price;
  • are not saved to your gallery or to the app’s storage;
  • are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

The app only uses the camera while it is open on screen. You can withdraw camera access at any time in your phone’s settings; you can still type prices by hand.

3. Information stored on your device

To work, the app keeps the following data in its private storage on your phone. We do not receive it.

DataPurpose
Selected currencies, theme, language and other settingsRemember your preferences
History of prices you scanned or typed, with the converted amountsLet you look back at prices you checked
Downloaded exchange ratesConvert prices when you are offline
Manual exchange rates you enterConvert prices at your own rate in offline mode
Premium status, free trial start date and redeemed promo code statusUnlock Premium features, also without internet

You can delete the history at any time from the History screen. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in your phone’s settings, deletes all of this data.

If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include this app data in your device backup, which is stored by Google under your account and governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You control this in your phone’s backup settings.

4. Local currency suggestion

To suggest the local currency when you travel, the app reads the country code of the mobile network your phone is connected to (for example “RS” for Serbia). This happens on your device, is not stored outside the app and is never sent to us. The app does not request or use your location (GPS). You can turn this feature off in the exchange rate settings.

5. Exchange rates and internet access

In automatic mode, the app downloads current exchange rates from public services:

  • ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com);
  • the open-source exchange-api project, served through jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) and Cloudflare Pages (currency-api.pages.dev), used as a fallback.

These requests only ask for the latest rates; the app does not send any personal information, prices or photos with them. As with any internet request, these services can see your device’s IP address and basic technical information about the connection, which they handle under their own privacy policies. In manual (offline) mode, the app does not download rates at all.

6. Purchases

Premium is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Google Play Billing. Payment is processed entirely by Google; we never receive your card or payment details. The app receives from Google Play only the information needed to confirm that Premium was bought (such as the purchase status and a purchase token), and this is checked on your device. Google’s handling of your purchase is described in the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service.

Promo codes entered in the app are checked on your device and are not sent to us.

7. Google ML Kit

The on-device text recognition is provided by Google ML Kit. Your images are not sent to Google. To monitor the performance of its APIs, ML Kit may send Google limited technical information, such as device model, operating system version, app package name and version, and performance or error metrics. This information does not include your photos or the prices you scan. See ML Kit terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

8. What we do not do

  • We do not show ads and do not use advertising IDs.
  • We do not use analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools.
  • We do not require an account, email or phone number.
  • We do not collect your location, contacts, files or photos.
  • We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone.

10. Children

The app is a general-audience travel tool and is not directed at children under 13. Since we do not collect personal data, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including in the European Union under the GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its processing. Because the app keeps your data only on your device, you can exercise these rights directly: view and clear your history in the app, change your settings, or uninstall the app to remove everything. For any privacy question or request, write to lozanalekseev@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

12. Security

Data stays in the app’s private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot access. Exchange rates are downloaded over encrypted HTTPS connections.

13. Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app’s release notes on Google Play.
